Colin Michael Browning has a dream. He wants to marry his long-time sweetheart, Amanda Andrews, and move to the Colonies of America. Amanda's twin brother Ben is Colin's best friend and a theology student. Colin is a blacksmith by trade, the Browning family business, and doesn't know how he'll get Amanda and him to America. Amanda is an expert embroiderer in her father's tailoring shop.
After being betrothed just after his seventeenth birthday, his future father-in-law announces that the family is moving to Boston to work with his own twin in Boston's Andrews' Tailoring Shoppe. A night of frivolity at the local pub on the eve of the wedding causes Colin to strike Sir Ascott, a nobleman in their area of Wales and a relative of King George in defense of Amanda's reputation. During the wedding, Colin is arrested and could face life in prison or the hang man's noose. Colin must choose whether to accept the consequences of his actions or join the British Army. |
A Time to Fight is the first book in the series: Colonial Dream.
